About Svetlana Shevchenko


Svetlana Shevchenko was born in Ukraine in the picturesque town Skadovsk on the Black Sea in a family of artists. Since childhood she admired the beauty of nature and depicted it with various materials (with crayons, gouache paints, watercolors, etc.), and then she graduated from an art school. She lived in different parts of Ukraine, but most of her time she lived in Kiev. She has been devoted to art all her life, and she has exhibited her paintings in Ukraine and abroad. Her works has been mentioned in several publications. As an artist, she has also designed a clothing collection. Many of her masterpieces adorn private art collections in Germany, England, France, Poland, Slovenia and a museum in Ukraine. Currently, contemporary artist Svetlana Shevchenko lives in Slovenia, in the mountains among beautiful nature, which cannot but influence her works. Not long ago, she presented to the audience her new series “Colors of Life,” in which Lana tried to reveal the theme “life is beautiful and it continues to delight and surprise us with its perfection and beauty.” Her paintings are filled with light and extraordinary energy. Her compositions are playful, often including bright elements, unique juxtapositions, or interesting use of scales. Several private and corporate collections include Lana’s paintings. She already had several exhibitions of her works in Slovenia. The latest are "Novo Življenje"(»new life«) in “Colors of life” exhibitions were in Ljubljana in different cities of Slovenia. She gave some interview about her works and life in Slovenia and has several articles in newspapers and magazines, participation in auctions, exhibitions, in various events.
